Mission Valley MGA | www.MissionValleyMGA.com

Welcome New MVCC and MGA Members.
Below is some information about your MGA and the coming season. There are events with varied formats from four or two-man teams to individual competitions. We encourage you to participate in them all. In some events, the Pro Shop arranges teams; in others, you need to find a partner. If you don't have one, the Pro Shop can pair you with another member. Your Board members are here to help in any way we can. Check out our website at www.missionvalleymga.com. Contact us at info@missionvalleymga.com with your comments or questions.

We hope to see you at the Opening Event and at the MVCCMGA CUP shootout in April.

Your MGA Board of Directors
Looking forward with the
Mission Valley Men's Golf Association
Our Mission Valley Men's Golf Association is healthy and well-positioned for a great 2020 - 2021 season. Your MGA Board is planning a full schedule of events for the coming season beginning with our usual Opening Event on October 28 and ending with a season long Mission Valley MGA Cup shootout.

Out of an abundance of caution
We are mindful of the safety of our members and will operate in accordance with current best practices and MVCC guidelines. We will stay alert to changes as they develop and adjust accordingly.

That means a couple of changes in our usual routines as we start our season. We will use tee times instead of shotgun starts to avoid a congregation of players before and after play. We will limit one player per cart (unless living in the same household). We currently have 62 carts. With tee times, and to help expand the number of players we can accommodate, we will allow and encourage walkers. Please plan to sign up early for events and opt for walking if you are able.

We have similar issues after play. Buffet lunches and a gathering of the entire group will not be possible. We will complete the usual scoreboards and will post results promptly on the Mission Valley and Men's Golf Association websites. For our Opening Event, individually paid lunch will be available. When you are registering, please indicate if you are having lunch so the kitchen can prepare.

Registration is available now for our October 28th MGA Season Opening Shamble. You can sign up by stopping in or calling (941.488.7747). Be sure to opt for walking if you can and indicate if you will be staying for lunch.

As a "Thank You" to our loyal members and a "Welcome" for our new members, we are waiving the entry fee for this event.

We are fortunate to have Paul Grovum and his skills on the Board. He has developed our website at www.missionvalleymga.com and arranged info@missionvalleymga.com as our email address for MGA communications or for your comments or questions. There is already lots of good information on the site and more will follow. Please login to the website using your:

2020-2021 Event Schedule We have a full schedule of events - and more. We have enhanced our payouts for each event by increasing the number of positions paid and/or the amount paid.

We will continue the two-man "Match Play Competition" we began last year. This year, we are adding a season-long "Mission Valley MGA Cup" competition. The dollars a player wins at each event will be translated to an equivalent number of points that will accumulate throughout the season. Every player who competes in and finishes an event will receive another 5 points. On April 24, 2021 there will be a shootout among the top ten point earners. There will be prizes for all players who make it to the elite ten. The more you play, the better your chances are to qualify.

All of our events are listed on our website along with a downloadable PDF format

During the year you will also be able to see individual event results and the current "Cup" standings.

Have a great MGA Season
Stay well. Enjoy our great golf course and our coming new Players' Patio. We have an increasing membership both for MVCC and the MGA. The Board is contacting all new club members to invite them to join the MGA, but nothing works like a personal invitation. If you meet a new member, invite him to join us. Our MGA membership is now 200, with over 20 recently added members. Plan on playing in a full schedule of events including some that you have not entered before. We have more flights and are paying more positions. Everyone has a change to compete and win. If you need a partner, the Pro Shop can match you with a player of your skill level.

Have a great golf season,

MGA President
